RFT the "gateway" to forums

I had never used a forum before RFT, but I had to get out of my comfort zone even more so I could get some support! :)

Now I'm pretty comfortable with using an internet forum, and I am finding it really helpful as my husband and I are planning a possible move to Brazil. I found a forum for foreigners in or moving to Brazil and am able to use it.

So cool. The internet can be so powerful!

Was anyone else a newbie to the idea of using an internet forum??

Seriously, my DH and I say daily "what did we do before the internet?"! We're constantly running to the computer to look something up to some random question we have.

It cracks me up because I remember having to go to the library to do research for papers when I was in school, and when I was in college, the internet wasn't nearly as useful as it is now...today's kids have it so easy :rolleyes:

But yes, I was very leary about actually posting on RFT because I was afraid everything I wrote would be judged and people would think I was a wacko. Now I realize that everyone here is for support, and you just don't reply or post to things that don't interest you.

Prior to RFT I had only used one forum (the knot) when I was planning my wedding (ettiquette question-dorky).

Ha Pansy! Thanks... now it's a different move in the works. We have actually made a trade for our house in Brazil and are selling another to buy a place in Hungary.

I think I just need to get out of here! :)
