I'm adjusting to eating raw. I've been vegetarian for many years. But I really don't want to go 100% raw. I don't want the restrictions at this time (I have 7 month twins!). I'd like to have one or two meals a day raw and the other meal (with family probably) would be part raw with whole grains, tofu, pasta, etc.

Do you think I will still get the benefits of going raw? Thanks

And, how do you recommend beginners to start?

Hi Twin,

What you just described is a perfect beginning. 1 or 2 meals raw and one meal cooked. Even with the cooked meal, if its supper, have a large salad before it. If its breakfast, have a couple of pieces of whole fruit before eating it. Other than that, you will definitely realize tremendous benefits in what you have proposed! Your body will thank you! Congrats on the twin blessings.

Peace.

Todd

I've heard many people say that the more raw you are, the better, so whatever you can do in that direction is great. However, Alissa's book also talks about the difference between almost and 100%, which is to say, it's a huge comparison. I have to agree, as I am 100% raw, and I have never felt so great in my life. But I a not the expert here... there are many here who have had tons more time and experience with this than I have... so I will leave it to them to tell you!

Best wishes always,
Melissa

That's somewhat how I started. But I would make sure that each meal 75% - 85% of my plate was raw. Once you start doing it - it really changes your ideas about eating.

Thanks for the advice.

Today I had a salad for breakfast and it was very good. I've never had one for breakfast! Then I had some grapes as a snack. Lunch was celery with a filled with raw almond butter, cinnamon, banana. It was good.

I did nibble on one whole wheat cracker.

I'm planning for dinner to be mainly salad but with some other dish, too.

This is not that difficult! And not too absurd, either.

Thanks.
