At the beginning of the year when I was first discovering Raw, I seem to remember wanting to get Psylluim husks as they seemed to pop up in lots of recipes.
I've searched an found a quiche recipe using these husks. Anyone know of any others? I can't remember what I wanted them for...
They are a kind of binding / setting agent, right?

Hi Caramba,
Yes psyllium husks are a binding ingredient. I have used them in a cheesecake recipe I have in a book called Eat Smart Eat Raw by Kate Wood. Psyllium is spose to be a good source of fibre, apparently you can mix a teaspoon in water/milk/juice and drink it and its spose to help with constipation or to get things moving in the digestive tract. My grandparents have it sprinkled over their cereal to increase their fibre intake. If you put it in a glass of water and leave it for a bit it does gel up (if thats how you'd describe it). I think I have a couple of other recipes that use it, however I don't how 'raw' the product is I haven't researched that one yet.
Z :)
