Which Vitamix to Purchase?

Hello, everyone.
After a 2 month hiatus (sp?) from high raw and the board I am back and loving it! However, my blender is dying :( and I have decided to buy a vitamix. But there are so many out there that I am confused. I am putting a shout out to those who already have them about the models, pros and cons. So if you want to share your ideas on vitamixes please do so. I don't know if I should buy a used one, or wait till they are at Costco again and purchase one then. Thanks, Pinkrosebud.

I have the 5000 and I think its great. I nearly got the 4500 but I am glad I paid the extra because I love the variable speed dial.

Waiting for the big brown truck to drive up any time now (tapping fingers...) and ring the doorbell delivering my new Vitamix 5200. Ordered it a week ago :eek: Like you, SubbaC, I decided to spend the Xtra bux since I can see myself teaching somewhere down the road. I just Can NOT wait to get it!!! First recipe to try: Cheezy Corn Chowder :D

My vitamix is the 4500 and it's very simple...two switches....one is for on and off and the other is for low and high. I love it and would buy it again. Judith:)

i got the vita prep 3 off ebay and am more than happy. best decision of my life (other than choosing this lifestyle of wonderful raw and living foods:D ) it has the 3+ hp motor and i looked at it this way, if i'm going to be spending that much money on an investment i might as well make it the best of the best. but of course the other vitamix models are wonderful as well and no way will you be disappointed in your decision. congratulations on getting ready to get a wonderful piece of equipment.:)
