Hello. I was wondering how long dehydrated food keeps. I would appreciate any feedback about your experience with keeping/storing the food that you dehydrate. I will be purchasing a dehydrator and would like get the big one because you do more at one time. But it depends on how well the food keeps. Thank you so much in advance! Pippin07

I keep crackers for months out of the fridge if they are very dry. I put them in a zippy bag and remove as much air as possible through a straw before finishing the seal.
Sometimes I make them thicker and take them out before they are crunchy so that I can bend it to make a rollover sandwich and I put this in the fridge and eat within a week.

I have the large dehydrator and assumed that the smaller ones had the same size trays only less of them. My friend was getting one and I suggested that the smaller one would do so she ordered the 4 tray. I was very dissapointed when it arrived as the trays are much smaller.
I made fruit leathers yesterday as I got to option to buy organic apples in the supermarket at a reduced price and used 7 of the large trays.
If you are ever going to be able to buy in bulk I would say get the large one.
