Who are some of the (good) names in raw foods to follow? What are your thoughts about Natalia Rose? Her book Raw Food Life Force Energy got me started on this... however she's not totally raw (neither am I, nor do I know if I will ever be comletely), and her "food combining" guidelines seem complicated.

Steer me in the right directions?

Thanks,

I also was really put off by Natalia Rose's food combining rules. I'm not saying there isn't truth to it, but I would get so confused about what to eat, I would get frustrated and want to just give up. I read her first book and then Raw Food Life Force, which was okay. A lot of the recipes were like, "go buy so-and-so's raw tortillas and put this with it", that is a grocery list not a recipe! However, the first part of the book had good and interesting info. It made the whole idea of chakra's and such really understandable. Everyone on this board will say Alissa's approach is great of course, but it is true. For starting out, I liked her approach the best! However, Alissa advocates going 100% right away from the get go. Being on this board has taught me a lot. I have mainly followed my own approach so far. The biggest thing for me was learning what to make. I do not have any interest in being really restrictive, so I'm not into 80/10/10 and the such. My library has a surprising amount of books, David Wolfe, Raw Food Real World....I just read and read, and then made LOTS of food :) It is a journey and I think being relaxed about it is best. I am a fellow Pacific NWer, welcome!
