These are 2 questions in one ...

So Ive made it almost all raw the first week ... only eating 1 cooked meal, even that is only half cooked with a raw salad, but 2 full meals raw ...

Anyway, I haven't been able to go to the washroom the past week ... any suggestions? I juiced lots of greens, kale, spinach, cucumber, salad, flaxseed oil etc ... and smoothies, apples, mangos, strawberries, pear ...

Also, I have a crazy backache almost all week and never had them before ... what is going on. It could be detox as well.

On a good note::D I wake up earlier now and not tired anymore, eye pain is getting better, toothache getting better. Hair is also not so dry.

Thanks gang!

Go Raw .. I love it! : )

I suffer extream siatica if I am bunged up and have done for years. I have that that if i combine quick exit foods (raw) with cooked I'm in trouble. The results are baaaad constipation. You see what ever you have eaten AFTER the cooked is desperate to get out but stuck behind the slow coach - cooked food. Think of it a cork in a bottle.

I noticed you said "juiced". The juice will ferment quickly in the gut if you are constipated. Please try to have who fruit/veg smoothies perhaps adding the juice as the liguid base lik in my thread Erin's Superman Breakfast Smoothies. the fiber will really help!

When this happens my goal is to clear out as soon as possible. I use a two pronged attack. I use an herb suppliment with lots of water to help with bowl motility and i use 1.2 a capful of Miralax. I believe this is no availble over the counter. Miralax works by bring water into the feces to get it moving. It is a white tastless powder that mixes in any liquid.

I have had this in the house as a perscription for years for my young daugter. It is VERY gentle as she has been taking it since she was 2.5!

The raw road is a bumpy but wonderful path. There is NO set of rules that work s for everyone so be patient and see what is right for your body! It took me three years of trial and error to get to my sancuary!

Cheers,

EPPP

Hi friends, for me all I can say is it was a poor guidance that did not let me continue long with the practice of raw foods. Yeah I also had problems that time and being afraid of the consequences I left it after some time. Sauna might give you relief as it did for me. But I am rethinking of taking up the habit all over again. Just tell me whom should I consult for the best ideas?

The back ache is linked to poor digestion and deox (well, it ws for me anyway). it will pass (pun intended). Try some digestive enzymes like papain or bromelain. I drink rejuvelac and that helps A LOT with the digestion, bloating and gas. Full of good enzymes!

Hey, sorry you had trouble. My friends have been off and on for the past 3 years trying to get it right. I hopped on the bandwagon this time with them now that they have it right. BUT what they are doing is different than what I am doing. i learned very quickly that nuts and seeds are a little too much for me. I love the green smoothies and an not interested in fruit because I have mild candida. So that is what I have figured out in 3 weeks. I will admit, i am not perfect. I have found the rejuvelac that helps me a lot! Hope you try it again! We will always be here for you! :D
