Hi all
I am planning on taking on an extended fast, probably about 2 weeks. I am also considering getting a colonic, which I have never done before, but have been interested for quite some time.
Anyways, my question is: do you think it would be better to have a colonic done before the start of my fast or right after?

If you are fasting for 2 weeks you should consider more than one colonic. You will be releasing a lot of toxins and you will have no fiber to move it along. This will lead to a danger of reabsorbtion.
Perhaps you would consider getting a home enema kit and doing a DIY job. I have one and it is not as bad as it sounds.

If time and resources are not an issue, a series of colonics during a fast is a great way to release stored waste, toxins, etc. Have one on the first day, the 3rd or 4th day (because that is the most toxic day as far as healing crisis) and if fasting for 7-10 days have one at the end.
If time and/or resources are a concern: Do an enema on the first day, colonic on the 3 or 4the day, and then enema near the end of the fast. THe reason is you want to get a good full flush at least half way through, it will revitalize you and help you to not jump off the cleanse because of any healing crisis that comes up.
I'll have people that will have a colonic on day 8 or 9 and be shocked to discover how much waste continues to release from the body.
Time time is not a concern but resources are? Do an enema each day of the fast.
Blessings,
C

thanks for the suggestions.
financially, i don't think i could afford more than one colonic at this time. i do think i'll look into a home enema kit, though.

Yeah, they are prohibitively expensive for the average person. Luckily, last summer I was cleaning for trade on them when I did a ten day fast. Every time I'd start feeling, well, crappy, I'd get a colonic and feel much better fasting. And what came out was definitely old! It was powerful enough I consider it very important that I'd save up for some colonics every year while fasting. But I couldn't afford to not work at the time and was out cleaning houses every day while fasting. Hard physical work while not eating and I did it remarkably energetically- would have preferred not to be! In hindsight it was nuts.:)
