Hello, I am new to the Raw Life. I am alittle nervous about my new life I am embarking on. Has anyone eles felt that way? 3 years ago I took off just under 100 lbs the old fashioned way--not junk and exercise. After lots of study on nutrition, this is where my journey has landed me and I am very excited to be here. Can anyone give me some helpful hints. I am nervous (about putting the lbs back on) with the no portion control and the eating of all the nuts and nut butter. Please help!

The best thing you could do is get Alissa's book and DVD. Start adding more raw to your diet and after you read her book and watch the DVD you'll be able to see clearly what this is all about. This is a great site too....welcome!!! Judith:)

Thank you Judith,
I have Alyssa's book and love it. I think summer will be a much easier time. Winter time in the midwest just stinks, but, I'm still able to eat raw about 75-80% raw.
Haw long have you been eating raw? Did you have a hard time making your transition to eating all raw foods?
Lisa :)

Thank you!
I am very excited to be part of this geat new world.
How long have you been eating raw? Did you find it an easy transition or one where you had a few set back/issues along the way?

Lisa :)

Welcome to the group!! Glad to have you join us!!:D I think the key to not gaining weight is to be 100% raw. Otherwise, your body is not able handle the foods properly. I've been 100% raw for nearly 6 months and I've lost weight throughout that time. I hear many folks not able to lose weight or start to gain weight because of eating almost all raw, but not entirely. I think it makes a big difference.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT.... and what Judith said... I couldn't have said it better myself!!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/iagree.gif

Alissa's book and DVD were the two most important tools I had when I first went raw... (and they are still the most important tools I have today) to help me understand - how, what, when, where, why....

she truly makes this lifestyle so DO'able.... (and a lot of fun too!!)

rawkin awesome that you have joined us!
