Hi gang. I am hoping someone here knows a bit about malabsorbtion. I have been raw for about 9 months and haven't had many issues. Other than the weight loss thing. I am now on the 811. I am loosing too much weight, and am eating plenty of calories.

I started at 148lbs and am now down to about 118lbs. I am 5'7" and am male. I was maintaining my weight and suddenly I came down with something and am having serious malabsorbtion issues. My food basically is not digesting. This has been going on for about two weeks now. I have gradually been loosing weight over the last 9 months too, but was able to maintain it at certain points.

Other factors:
Here are some other factors I must point out. I recently went off meds, which I was on for the last 16 years of my life. Before that I was on different meds for about 15 years. I am wondering if this could be some sort of widthdrawl. I have been weening off these drugs for about 6 months and I finally went off.

My sleep pattern is a mess, and I am working on it. I am stressed too.

Anyhow, I am considering a juice fast. Although, I am not an advocate of juicing. I already tried a 3 day water fast and I am still having issues. I am one of those hardcore, "food must be in it's natural state" types of people.

Does anyone here have any experience with this type of health issue, and could you offer some helpful advice, or info??? Thanks.

FYI:
I did read all the other posts in this forum on malabsorbtion, but don't agree with taking all that stuff.

I've got some similar issues which I believe resulted from years of wheat gluten products ripping up my intestines. I take a daily multi-vitamin in the form of juicing vegetables; I feel it and need that liquid, easily-digestible nutrition. I'm hoping to hear from others some ideas about rejuvenating the health of the intestines. Also, I'm listening to Dr. Christopher on tape right now talking about using herbs to heal the colon- I'll report back.
My- you're thin. How is your physical energy?

I had some malabsorbtion difficulties that were handily taken care of by my ayurvedic practitioner who gave me triphala for a month and a series of basti - 5 warm oil enemas with herbs self-administereed in a 5 day period. really helped me! my tongue was noticeably scalloped on the edges (which is an indication in ayurveda of malabsorbtion and my tongue is now smooth on the edges, it looks totally different!

just my experience.

My energy is fine. I have no problems performing in martial arts. However, I am losing weight. This is a big problem because I am already in the unhealthy weight range.

Yes, I tried some probiodics. I plan to try some more this weekend.

I have an appointment with an acupuncturist tomorrow, so hopefully that will help some.
