Frozen Durian

I'm thinking about making smoothies with it. Any suggestions? Not the thread to tell me it makes you barf, okay? :D

I made a smoothie with it before, but now I wish I tried more than one variation. I used mango and ginger and whipped it up with the durian. Thought it was awesome. :cool: Durian rocks!

i made a lemon pudding with durian, i tasted like a sweet lemon custard it was soo good, bet it would make a really cool smoothie too.

it was so long ago now...what did i add. i think it was probably, vanilla, fresh lemon juice, and maybe i sweetend it a bit extra?

anyway, there's an idea for you....hhhmmm i think i'll have to try it....
oooh...how about a creamy strawberry durian smoothie?!

I made a really good green smoothie with it.

The trick is to use just a little! Then it's lovely creamy and not overempowering stinkfoot smoothie.

so, disregard the fact that I used some prepared orange juice pulp :rolleyes: I had some left over and it really adds a zing. I think in the future I could use fresh squeezed o.j. and perhaps grate some rind or skin or whatever I mean..

1/4 cup of durian, frozen
2 T. of o.j. pulp
handful of cilantro
2 bananas
H20

Wowser! Is that a good smoothie and it's so much fun to experiment and make up my own recipes!

And durian? Also, I can hardly imagine a smoothie these days without some greens in it too; it's such a fresh element.

Where can I buy durians? I shop at Raleys, Safeway, and Trader Joes. We also have an Smart in town. I have not seen a durian or a cherimoya (sp?) at any of these stores.

try an Asian market. and if you locate one, don't be surprized at the smell, often described as stink-foot yogurt. go easy, experimenting, just a tablespoon in a smoothie or you can get overwhelmed.:)

Yup. My friends had a little get together and made smoothies with durian, cacao, carob, bananas, apple, and water.
