I am so excited to finally be doing this again.....hehehe
I have a LOT of weight to lose, but I am trying not to think of it like that. I am, instead, trying to look at it as I am getting healthy so that I can get pregnant!! I have PCOS, and losing weight is a must to get my hormones straight.
I have a SERIOUS junk food addiction, that I am hoping to also kick in the process. I need to know that there is some accountability, so I signed up for the 30 Day Challenge, and I started my blog, so anyone who wants to be a drill seargent, look me up!! I could use all the help I can get!!
I would love to know how others got over the immense cravings, and what I can do to help my self ease into the detox.....
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement!!!!!:D
Also, anyone from NE Georgia round these parts?:p

celticcrow - welcome - love your name! there is a strong thread here on PCOS - and find DocSharp, my raw food buddy and an expert on PCOS.
i encourage you to get Alissa's book and follow her 4 week menu plan (includes a shopping list).
the book is an inspiration and the source of healing for many people (including myself) on this board.
have fun - Alicia

Hi!! Welcome to the group!!:D I don't have PCOS but I sure hope my body is getting uber healthy for a pregnancy too!! I had 2 miscarriages last year before going 100% raw overnight!! I finally feel ready to start trying for a pregnancy & feel confident that my body has healed from whatever the problem was. Raw is so healing, you are on the right path!!;) Best wishes.

I'm fairly new to raw also, but the experience I want to share is from when I was pregnant with my last child. I was overweight to begin with and the extra weight of pregnancy was awful! I was so tired, sick and could barely stand for any length of time. I hated it. I was so jealous of the women that looked and felt great during pregnancy. I wanted that too! I love my kids, but for me, pregnancy was the pits. If I could do it over, I would have gone raw first, lost the weight and healed myself, then gotten pregnant so that I could really enjoy that very special time of growing my child.
So, do yourself a huge favor and stick with this. The detox will be hard but at the same time you will feel somehow clearer and healthier. Good luck!
