View Full Version : Dehydrating sprout breads.
Sorry for all the questions, everyone. I hope I don't get too annoying.
Anyway, I would like to try making some of the sprout breads in a dehydrator. But, most dehydrators I know of use flat trays. How do you get a loaf shape to fit in them? Or are the breads pretty flat? Hope this doesn't sound stupid.
Thanks, Jodi

Nope, you're not annoying and I hope YOU don't find it annoying that it seems I'm the one always answering you first! :p
But anyways...a lot of raw fooders own the Excalibur and that particular model allows you to remove trays (kinda like you can do with an oven) to make more room for taller things.
However, if you plan to get the Nesco American Harvest Snack Master from Walmart, you can order (online) a special tray they have that is deeper and used for such things. I've seen them at both http://nesco.com and http://everythingkitchens.com
Meanwhile, you can make sprouted flat bread rather than making a loaf.
Thanks a bunch. Buying a new dehydrator is on my list of things to do. My local Walmart does not have it, but Amazon has both of them. I really want the excaliber....now to just convince hubby of it!

Well, if you and hubby settle on the Nesco, Walmart.com has them too and may be cheaper than Amazon, not sure. But yeah, push for that Excalibur!! Work those feminine wiles girl! :D
