I'm considering this, never tried it before but I'm looking for something more flavorful than water but not as strong as oj.
Have you tried this?
Do you like this?

I have and it was too sweet for me. I guess it depends on your taste buds. :)

I prefer oj in my green smoothies, but have used coconut water in smoothies that include cacao, etc..
I think many do use it though...great with pineapple added. I've added some oj and some coconut water and like that combo.

YES!!! It's awesome. I use the coconut meat, too. I've used it for a variety of tropical fruit smoothies and green smoothies. Very versatile and all tasted really, really good. :)

would the coconut water be a good base for a chocolate banana smoothie?
Yes, I think it would. I like the taste of the mix of those three items. I find that keeping in the same area works well in general --- so having coconut with other tropical fruits is almost always a good idea. Bananas, mangoes, hmmmm don't know about avocado but actually I think that would be good too if you don't add greens.
Personally, I think it's a waste of a delicious coconut water...hehehe... But, yeah, I think it would work.

I love coconut water! I have used it, along with water, as a base in various types of green smoothies as well as fruit smoothies. Coconut water with pineapple is a wonderful sweet treat.
Matt (Rawvolution) uses coconut water as base for most of his recipes, specially soups...

OH YES! I have coconut water, coconut meat, 2tbs raw cocoa powder, probably 1tbs agave nectar (optional because sometimes I forget) and 2 frozen bananas blended as a smoothie and OMG it is SOOOO good! I drink this daily and it really fills me up :)
