Help! How do you store your nut butters?

In the fridge, or not- I just don't want to end up with food poisioning because they went rancid.

Once opened they need to be kept in the refrigerator. All of the nut butters that I have purchased state that on the jar. They don't last long, though, because they get eaten pretty fast around here! :) So, I don't know how long they will keep even in the fridge. Hope that helps!
