Just bit into a larabar only to discover it was molded. Am I going to die? :o

I doubt you'll die. I always wondered about those larabars, how do they stay fresh so long if they're raw? Is it the packaging? I've eaten moldy things accidentally before and nothing weird happened, no hallucinations or death or anything like that. :D

   I never look closely at the Larabars I eat! I keep them in my bag for emergency munching when I'm out of the house to keep on the raw path til I get home.
I think you should let the company know incase there is a problem with a whole batch....
By the way what flavour was it??????????????????

Yes. Yes you are. Start getting your affairs in order....make out a will, find the cats a good home, go skydiving (or whatever it is you want to do before you die)......

Naw, just kidding of coarse! I'm positive you'll be just fine! Well, except for the fact that you just ate mold (eeewwww)....look at it this way, at least it was raw?!

Hey...how'd you know I have cats??
It was a rather fine dusting...had to take a second look to make sure type thing. But it WAS for sure...I didn't check a date I tossed it cuz I was grossed out! And then I thought after...well so much for contacting the company cuz the evidence is now in the garbage and I am NOT fishing it out.
It was ginger snap. And I thought....MY, this has quite an interesting SNAP to it! IN FACT....I'm not sure....oh wait, EEEEEWW!
So that's how that went.
But jsut so you know I really, really want to mudwrestle, not skydive!!

I had the exact same thing happen with a cashew cookie flavour. I live in Ontario too. Maybe they've been sending the bad batches here...lol. I checked the date and it was months before it was to expire.

No way. I was JUST wondering about this issue. Blecch. well, I wasn't loving them anyway, so no big deal for me!
i stopped buying larabars about 3 moldy bars ago...the first one was half way gone by the time i turned on the light (was driving at night) to take a look due to its "interesting flavor." i caught the next two before eating:)

first dates - now larabars?? I never look at them - just EAT THEM.... (note to self - begin checking out all lara bars before ingesting) One good thing - I've never had the ginger snap ones! :D

Oh no I was hoping it wasnt the ginger type :(
I just bought 2 whole boxes of that flavour....yep 32 of them!
I was hoping to have them as an allowable snack to fight off cravings while I do the February 30 day challenge especially after being put off dates by another thread LOL.
Gone right off the idea :p which is probably a blessing in disguise cos now I will have to find something else as a handy snack to take everywhere with me like an apple.

You mean it's NOT an isolate incident? Not even an isolated flavour? Oh man, this is worse than I thought.
yeah...dates...those wormy little things!
and I know some of the larabars are made with dates...and pie crusts...yum. protein. lol
I will just have to decide that I am one of 'those' people that likes making stuff...I want to make a granola, banana chips...ah that's all I've got so far. other than a great chocolate recipe.
But yes, fruit. Fruit ALWAYS works.
