Hi to all,
What a wonderful BB to have for people. I am completely new to Raw Foods, but my family needs help.
We have fought a 13 year battle with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, hormone/thyroid problems, allergies, liver, acid reflux, etc, etc.
We have treated with numerous ND's, etc, and recently found out our well water was contaminated with high heavy metals. We also moved in a new manufactured home (outgassing), which destroyed lots of immune system.
I am tired of chasing symptoms, taking tons of supplements, and seeing little to no results.
I had my blood looked @ recently (wet and dry) under a microscope, (toxic) and the gal is a big advocate to sprouting, enzymes, etc. She's also new and doesn't know a lot.
SO....I googled and found this site. I'm getting the book/DVD, but if any out there are recovering from any problems as we've had, I sure would appreciate your input.
We want our health back, and just have a really good gut feeling (no pun intented) about this.
Thank you,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
A raw diet won't disapoint you, I promise.
Growing up my family was always sick too. We had, or thought we had, or were even misdiagnosed with: IBS, lupus, hepatitis, thyroid, crohn's, rheumitoid arthritis, ADHD, depression, allergies, acid reflux, vomiting and diarhea with blood, anemia, and more colds and flus than we could count. I spent my childhood with strep and antibiotics. My mother died from these sicknesses, one of my older brothers was told at the age of 25 that he had just a few months to live, and another (27) that he would need a wheelchair and the medical drugs the doctors said he had to be on would kill him by the age of 40.
At some point while trying to figure out what was wrong with us we determined and later confirmed that we had celiac disease (gluten intolerance: found in wheat, barley, rye, spelt, kamut and oat). Removing gluten in our diet helped a lot.
I continued searching. We still weren't in prime health and I refused to believe that mediocre health was all our bodies were capable of.
I've been high raw for roughly two years and I feel great. So dive right in, its the best thing you could do for your family.

Before raw I had a ton of problems with my hormones and my monthly cycle as well as allergies and a long long list of other things. Since going raw I don't deal much with any food allergies so that is great and my hormones are getting in balance, but I know I have more healing to do. My monthly cycle use to come every 45 days or later before raw, after going raw my monthly cycle comes about every 30 days..
Raw food won't heal you but it will give your body the nutrients so that it can heal itself. Most people don't realize that our bodies can heal itself if given the right foods. I am so glad that you found us and that you are attempting to get your health back. Email me if you ever need someone to talk to.

You are on the right path....getting the book/DVD. You'll really set yourself up with a good foundation and you'll see a section where people tell how going raw helped them....I'm remembering on in particular that had multiple sensitivities...I'd go look but by daughter has my book right now. It's the one with the gal who has a whole page of herself and I think she has water running down on her or just got out of the pool...you'll know which one I mean. Good Luck and Welcome....LOL, Judith:)

Hi Kathyl,
I too am new to raw foods.
Among other things, I am also dealing with multiple chemical sensitivities, thyroid/hormone problems, food sensitivities, etc. I carry a mask with me that has a carbon filter for times when I am out in public or when persons are in my home that have a fragrance on that I find bothersome. I try to outgas everything new for a few days before coming into my home. Understanding and reducing my toxic burden has helped me. I now have air and water filters in my home. It is a constant battle because there are so many variables. My sensitivities are extensive.
My heart goes out to you and your family.

Hi. Before I went raw I had many more chemical sensitivities. When they would wax the floors at work, my throat would swell, my eyes and lungs would burn, I felt like I was having asthma from it. I was nearly fired for having a reaction to it. Then I noticed at the same time I could not walk down the row at the grocery store with cleaners or fertilizers. I was having the same reactions. I had to send in my bf to shop. Since going raw, about 80% more or less on any given day. These symptoms have left. Be patient with yourself. Research foods that help remove mucus. I drink fresh juiced citrus juices mixed together in the morning. Also lemons cut up in water. I pack a mason jar full of them cut up and fill with distilled water and a little agave and sip on that. Fresh green juices like wheatgrass helps too. Best of luck.
