I'm wondering how long you were raw before you noticed your skin tags were gone? (Whoever's mentioned that they left...)

...& this may sound weird, but HOW do they dissapear???:confused:
Fall off??? Dissolve??? Shrivel up & die???:eek:
Just wondering...
Thanks!:D

I quickly and easily removed mine with bloodroot paste. You simply put some on it, bandage and change the paste and bandage every two days. They usually drop right off in a few days. The hard part will be finding the bloodroot paste. I got mine online. Have never seen it in a store.

Shazzie has an article somewhere on her website about how she removed some skin tags with some paste..I can't remember the name..may have been Bio-T, but you might find it interesting.

Ok, crazy question here. But what's a skin tag???

A skin tag is when the tag from the clothes you wear irritate your skin & cause a growth from rubbing...KIDDING!!!

It's a little flap of skin that I've heard is a sign of pre-diabetes, actually!
Thanks for the tips, I can't bear the pain of the Dr. removing them (& don't want to get a shot for freezing...)

I wonder if I could get the paste made by a local herbalist?
If anyone knows anywhere I could order this online (preferrably in Canada) I'd love a link!

Thanks for the help!

It's a little flap of skinWhat does a skin tag look like ? How big is it ? Where do they usually occur ?

It just looks like a little flap can be quite small, (& can get to the the size of a pencil eraser or so, though not usually), & they usually grow in places that get warm (under breasts, in folds, or there's not much airflow, wherever there's darkening of the skin (often around the neck, usually associated with obesity)...
...My computer refuses to paste anything, so I can't send you a link, but if you just google skin tags, I'm sure it'll answer your questions better than I can!
I just know I want them GONE!!!
HAS anyone here had them leave just from going raw? Maybe I misunderstood...

I had three of the little blighters on my side under my arms - I sliced them off with a razor blade...no hurt, slight dot of blood...gone!! never to return.
That was a few years ago.

I've heard about making a paste using baking powder to remove them...I'll have to try and re-find the details regarding this.

I've also tied a string/dental floss around them and they eventually shrivel up (lack of blood flow to them) and fall off. I guess it depends where they are...you'd look pretty silly with tiny pieces of string hanging off your neck...lol (that's where I find a lot of mine). My doc recommended this method, and it did work. To get them removed by the doc costs major $ and a lot of times they just grow back :(

I feel your pain. They are so unslightly.

I got mine as a result of pregnancy. At least that is what the doctor said they were from. Mine never went away. I got them on my under arm. Not where you shave, but just to the side of it. Annoying, but would like them gone too.

Yes, pregnancy can cause them, it does have to do with insulin levels, which pregnancy can affect, even without leading to gestational diabetes.

I did try to remove one with a pair of strong sterilized nail clippers, but the PAIN!!!!! WAAAAAAAAY too much!!! (It was only a medium sized one that gets in the way...but I guess I'm a wimp! I can take the pain of 23 hours labor on no sleep for 36 hours, but this was just too intense!}

{...& you're welcome, EZrider!}

I have a couple on one of my upper eyelids...what do you do about THAT?? The skin is so delicate...

A sign of pre-diabetes? I've been tested for diabetes since I've had them, and been ok....hmm...worrisome.

I have used bloodroot paste on the eyelids but it can be tricky. First you have to do it on some consecutive days where you won't be leaving the house because it can look unsightly.

Of course it would depend where exactly the tags are. If in a fold, they might not be so easy to remove. After applying the paste you would then cut down a bandage to a tiny sliver so you can apply it over the paste to keep it in place.

The skin tag will become hard to the touch and will get bigger and bigger as it sort of busts up from the inside out. It will eventually just fall off.

I actually had a tag (similar, but diffierent) removed from my eyelash area on the inside coner of my eye...not fun, but it was bugging me...he used a numbing cream first...

...having your gallbladder removed is also supposed to greatly increase your chance of diabetes...but we know what to do to prevent it, (RAW! Raw! Raw!:D ) & it's definately NOT a given!

I was told when I had gestational diabetes (& have read this in numerous places...maybe they're all quoting each other! Lol!) that it was almost guaranteed that I'd have diabetes within ten years MAX!

But my Dr. tells me that I'm the healthiest morbidly obese patient she's ever had, or even heard about...it's cuz of the way I eat, even when I'm not 100%...I tell her that, she totally gets it...

...she has a lot of weight to lose also, & is really eager to see if it comes off with raw...can't weight to go see her in a few months...I'm already 30lbs down from my highest weight! {Unfortunately, It doesn't even show on me till at least 50!}

...sorry, didn't mean to go off on a bunny trail there...:rolleyes:

...I tried to pull/twist a little skin tag off once...couldn't do it, made me cry!

(I can handle 23 hours of labor on no sleep with no meds, but that?:eek:
No way!!!)

I've had two fall off...one of them was on my neck. They turned dark and just fell off. I have a couple more on my neck (mine also appeared during pregnancy), so I'm hoping they'll do the same fast...they're gross looking!!

used to work for a dermatologist. they said these are absolutely caused by insulin sensitivity, pre-diabetes or diabetes indicators. Caused by eating crap and being overfat. We all know this, right?

At the office they would cauterize the root and then apply anti-bacterial ointment and a bandaid-simple. Maybe the razor blade is a good alternative to that!

According to this, they don't actually know the cause of skin tags. They do have several theories but they don't know the cause for sure. Regardless of the cause, my bet is that a raw diet will help prevent new tags from forming.

Here's a link to Shazzie's website where she talks about using Bio-T to remove her skin tag. Looks like it works.
http://www.shazzie.com/raw/articles/mole_removal/

Here's how to order the Bio-T
http://www.no-moles.com/catalog.htm

I tried to research Bloodroot. I found a couple sites that mix bloodroot and other ingredients to form a paste but then some porn site came up (geeze!) so I closed that window. I didn't find any information on skin tags disappearing when eating raw. I think I will have mine removed at the doctors office and hope that no more form now that I'm raw. :D

with my raw diet! I used to have several and since I have been eating so many raw foods, they have all disappeared! I was also pre-diabetic and there may have been that connection, too. Anyway, my blood sugar level at last blood test was at 94. Sometime in the past year the skin tags left and I don't miss them or want them back.

The diabetic connection is really interesting.....mine showed up during my first pregnancy...but during both pregnancies, I was borderline diabetic (though fine when not pregnant)....very very very INTERESTING...it all makes sense!!
