do they warm up the food but keep it raw? I am asking because the term slow cooking means to simmer at a low heat for a long period of time, right? That is why it takes a long time for the food to cook?

What's the temperature? Can you stick your finger in it while it's simmering? If not, it's not raw.

I've heard people say that if they want something they've made raw to be warm that they will warm their bowell up and put the soup in that or they will put it in their dehydrator and give it a little warmth that way. Never heard of the slow cooker approach. LOL, Judith:)
