...and he sent me so much stuff. These are things I've never had before and I need some help for how to eat it, when to eat it, what to put with it, etc. :)

Star fruit
cherimoya
galangal
kumquat
jicama
korean melon
passion fruit

He sent me a bunch of other stuff, too. I'm all giddy!

Hey Jenna!
I can help with a few of the things, others will have to fill in the rest...
Cherimoya: I've always just peeled and ate (they're wonderful!), wait for it to be softish and smell good. If anyone can add anything to recognizing when they're ripe, chime in - it's been a while since I had one.

kumquat: Wash, roll in your finger (to loosen juice inside) and pop in your mouth! They're sour. I've never tried, but I bet they'd be super in a smoothy with some agave to sweeten up a bit.

jicama: I LOVE LOVE LOVE jicama. It's a root vegetable. I like it cool to cold, peel and cut into pieces and just eat and enjoy. It's crisp and sweet. The first time I had them they were served as 'jicama fries' along side some food in the southwest many years ago. It's a real treat.

The rest someone else will have to help with, I look forward to their answers as I don't really know either!

What a great friend to send such an awesome package!
Enjoy in EXCELLENT health!
:D

The passion fruit, just slice open, and dig in with a spoon! It is delicious! My two boys love passion fruit!

Blessings.

Star fruit just slice and eat , add to salads my kids like the look of them on their plate or in a fruit salad.
Cherimoya when soft peel and eat or slice and scoop with a spoon
Kumqaut We have two trees and it is hard to keep the kids away. They are ripe when they are a dark/bright orange. Just poop in your mouth and eat it seeds and all. They have a sweet skin and tart inside. My kids like them so much they usually won't wait till ripe and will just peel and eat the skins toss ing the rest of the ground. I find little piles of the centers around the tree when they are coming into season.
Jicama is another favorite. Great in salads, cut flat like a chip andused as for dipping, cut into stix and used on a relish tray with Celtic sea salt and a sqeeze of lime
Passion fruit. just slice open and eat with a spoon , add to smoothies or fruit salad.
