Hi All!

Can anyone recommend a raw face cream or natural one that is gentle on the face? It is so dry in the winter like now and I would like to get a natural one.

Already doing the natural toothpaste ... fennel by toms of maine ... awesome :)

I just recently made some changes in my daily regimen as I have gotten rid of my acne (skin's doing fabulous!), but I would like to get rid of the scars. I've been putting honey mixed with water on my face, then rubbing in some brown sugar. It makes my face feel sooooo soft!! It's the strangest thing!

I use coconut oil for moisturizer just when my skin feels a bit dry, but I haven't needed it since I started using the honey/sugar for face wash. I am looking out my window at several inches of snow, and I spent about 1-2 hours shoveling my mom's car out of our long driveway last night so she could get to work this morning.

Yet my skin is not dry enough yet to need the coconut oil! Still... it is a great moisturizer and has NOT left my skin feeling super oily when I've used it (as I would expect).

Just curious, what type of honey? Liquid or the raw hard honey? : )

Whats your mixture content roughly? Gonna try that!

Just had a bath in Apple cider vinegar as today is a fasting day and WOW my face is also very soft now and nicely exfoliated ... could try the bath too its awesome! : )

It's creamed, unprocessed and unfiltered, feels just a little hard. I'm not 100% sure if it's raw, but I think it is. It is not exactly like the raw honey I get to eat with the extra layer at the top, but it is definitely nothing like the liquid honey bear stuff they sell at the supermarket. I haven't tried it with the other honey I buy, but I imagine it would work similarly. Just use a little water to put it on if it's super hard.

I get it at Trader Joe's; it's a small tub that's their brand.

I actually stick my finger into the honey container, then put just enough water to smooth it on to put a light layer on my skin. A couple times, I've let it sit for a little while, but it's not necessary. Then I put just enough of the brown sugar mixed in to really exfoliate.

terressentials. their moisturizer that comes in the tub--think its called night replenishing cream or something . REALLY good. really creamy and moisturizing but not oily or heavy. the only thing ive ever found im really happy with. and REALLY pure and all organic; NO chemicals; they are super-careful about that. have a look at their website www.terressentials.com.

I just use plain shea butter. It sinks right into the skin and isn't greasy.

This may not be what you want to hear but why not go without any. I gave it up and at first had to use it occasionally but now never need it.
My skin is never dry
Think of it as you do your food and only give it cream if it asks for it. It will stop asking and make it's own lubrication.

I use jojoba oil for the very same reason. I wouldn't dream of using a commercial product anymore...and I was the queen of commercial skin care!!:D

I make my own face cream featuring 60% unrefined shea butter, and the rest jojoba oil, extra-virgin olive oil, a bit of vegetable glycerin(as humectant agent)along with the contents of a few co-enzyme Q-10 gelcaps(anti-wrinkle). I latched onto this combo after my skin got fried from using irritating commercial OTC products that were somewhat treatment-oriented. Healed up my face very nicely, and is good for general dry skin conditions, and would likely be compatible with Rx treatment stuff like Retin-A and the like.
I'm a huge fan of extra-virgin coconut oil for the body - that's all I use on it!

I agree with Sport... I used to have a dry skin but since being raw I've stopped putting anything on my skin except plain water, and it's never been better...
