I have been reading a lot about fluoride being poison, and I don't just mean in large doses. What do you guys think? If you Google it, it is kind of scary.

It's absolutely scary. What's even more scary is that governments are breaking the law by adding it to drinking water w/out the consent of people who are drinking it.

I believe that Fluoride *is* poison.. I and mine are using fluoride free toothpaste and thankfully our city does not fluorinate the water.

Just tell them you don't want it. Now if you are under 18, you might have a hard time with them not giving it to you. They tend to really push it onto the younger people.

I don't know if it's poison or not but I don't believe we need nearly as much as many of us are getting. For the most part I don't drink tap water, and I use a non fluoride toothpaste most of the time. I figure I am getting some in the water when I brush my teeth and I use a fluoride paste some of the time.

The dentist never gives me a hard time when I say "no flouride" on my kiddos. They seem to be hearing it more and more lately.

Flouride blocks iodine receptors in the thyroid which is one of the reasons we are seeing such an increase in thyroid problems.

As Julie said, tell them you don't want it. You can tell if you're getting it by the taste. They mask the bitterness with flavor. The non-flouride is virtually tasteless.

I was going to the dental university to get my teeth cleaned and the poor kid who was learning to be a hygienist could NOT understand my choice to NOT have flouride. She insisted it wouldn't harm me. I know better.

It's all branding, marketing and $$$.

I think that I live in the only country in Europe that still allows it in the water. The rest have banned it.

It is said that during the war Hitler had flouride added to the water as it is supposed to make people more complacent and easy to control!

Absolutely agree fluoride is poison. It's added to some mineral waters too, so maybe best to always read the labels to check. I'm sure I can tell now if there's fluoride in 'em - there's a sort of acrid extra taste to them. It's in some beers, too.

I too use a fluoride-free toothpaste. It's really sad how some dentists still push fluoride, and haven't read the latest research on the matter. Apparantly, some high-ranking dentists have now stopped recommending/using it, but here in Britain they keep pushing the stuff. They're trying to add it to our drinking water, too - what is WRONG with those people??? (Well, David Icke/Stewart Swerdlow venture some answers ...)

Fluoride isn't a natural substance - apparantly it's the byproduct of industry! It's full of toxic chemicals.

Can you BELIEVE the crap they feed us?
