Hello Raw Food People!
I've been 80-90% Raw since Dec. 7th, 2007. Previously I had ran my first marathon (which was an amazing experience), but I didn't feel I was in top shape despite 4-5 hour runs and intensive cross training. On top of that I had an ever present occurance of a sometimes painful acid reflux. Ugh. So I was complaining to my friend one night (who happens to teach a weekly raw food class) as I was simultaneously stuffing my face with candy (ha!)...she told me about the dangers of "eating cow" and how fish are basically the "tampons of the sea" and that cancer can't exist in an "acid body." These metaphors were very effective for me. I stopped eating meat and dairy and have been eating raw basically ever since.
So here I am. I'm glad that I've made this change for several reason. As a preschool specialist teacher, college instructor, and performer I need the energy that the raw food diet gives me. Also I believe that eating raw somehow has made me more of a positive person. HMMM.... anyway.
