Buying Almonds!

So where do yall buy the Almonds now? Since all that pastuerized mess started?

Well, I still get mine from the local co-op...they're steamed but not chemically-treated. But, Alissa just recently started carrying REALLY raw almonds on her site, so I'll probably look into those.

btw...where have YOU been lately? Haven't seen you 'round these parts in a long time!

You can still buy raw almonds, you just can't get them at the store. You can get them from farmers who sell directly to individuals online or at farmer's markets. Look for raw almonds on ebay. You can email the seller to make sure they are really raw.

Anyone found a company in Canada that has a source of raw almonds yet, by any chance?

ALSO, some HFS, such as the PCC Coops in the seattle area are carrying unpasteurized almonds from spain. i think its absolutely insane the amount of "air miles" on these things; its just ridiculous when theyre grown right here in california. anyway, some hfs and coops might have them. but to be honest i havent found the quality to be that great.
