My friend and I have been folowing the raw journey together and we have completely different bodies and digestive systems. She is having problems and has not yet joined the forum, but I want to get everyone's advice to try to help her out.
She was high raw and then she did the master cleanse for 12 days and has been eating 100% since then (it has been about a week and a half). She is drinking green smoothies about every other day and eating a well balanced diet of nuts, seeds, onion bread, salads, kombucha, dates, etc. She has maybe had 2 unraw meals in the last week and a half.
Several days ago she developed a hemorrhoid because she is having to use that part of her body so much due to the increased intake of fiber. She said that she has never liked fruit and thinks that maybe it is just not good for her body :( .
During the period of the MC she also quit smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee...I am sure that she is going through detox...
Anyway, has anyone else had the problem of having to go #2 more than 10 times a day? Does the excess gas come from the digestive system switching over to digesting primarily raw food? Does the excess gas problem go away? How long does this take? Has anyone else had problems with green smoothies? Do you think this is a hump that once you are over it these problems go away?

My mom is having some of the same issues and I am not sure how to advise either of them. My body type is very different from both of them and I don't really have these problems. However, learning how different bodies react to this is facinating to me :D !

Any kind of advice or ideas of how I can help them to understand what is going on or to be able to confidantly assure them that it will get better would be great :) .

Thanks
angela
