It's Friday and for me previously (before raw) pizza was a "good old standby" for a Friday night dinner after a long week of work. Easy, quick, pick up the phone, and voile it arrives 30 mins later...or ready for pick-up in 15.
Ok, so I'm not doing that anymore, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't like pizza now and then. I am SO HAPPY that Alissa created a scrumptious pizza recipe, well actually several. I am making the "easiest" version of the crust today and am including some pictures because I'm so thrilled to have this!
My camera isn't the greatest, but you get the idea.....
Anyone else want to add THEIR pizza pics? Let's have a pizza fest to celebrate the weekend!!! :)

ha! what a perfect forum for me today! i made a pizza today, as well :D
cept, my pizza has a hole in it because i have a round dehydrator, oh well, though...
it was scrumptious! i was running low on options for toppings, so i tried out some different toppings: finely sliced carrot, sprouts, cilantro, and an absolutely divine marinara sauce :)

Yeah, no problem,
Bruschettas by subbacultcha
Ingredients
* 1 jicama
* 2 tablespoons Olive oil
* ½ cup Tomatoes (the smaller the better)
* 1 tablespoon Onion, diced small
* 1 clove garlic, deveined and minced
* 2 tablespoons dried basil
* juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon, depending on size
* fresh basil, for garnish
* large pinch of salt and pepper
Preparation
1. Peel the jicama. Slice it width ways into rounds about 1/2cm thick. 2. Toss the jicama with olive oil and place in the dehydrator for about 5 hours, or until dry on the outside. 3. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the pulp and seeds and discard them (or feed them to your pet :)) chop up the flesh into little cubes. 4. In a bowl, combine the tomato with the onion, garlic, basil, salt and pepper and lemon juice. Mash it all together with a fork. 5. Use a teaspoon to spoon the mixture onto the jicama slices and return to dehydrator for approximately 1 hour. 6. Remove from the dehydrator, garnish with torn basil leaves (optional) and enjoy!
Its ridiculous how good the jicama is as a base, I promise!

Oh thanks, Subbacultcha! I will try these for sure when I am off my MC. Maybe I'll make them and freeze them. The bruschettas, I mean. How about sharing the pizza recipe, if it isn't too much trouble?

You can get some really good pizza recipes if you 'banana search' it...look for Carmella's thread...that's where I got some of my inspiration as well as the book Living Cuisine.

Well, I made the pizza up as I went along...So I can't be too mush help with the recipe! I'll just tell you what I did (from what I can remember) to give you a rough idea... The beauty of preparing raw foods is that it is not an exact science and you can make it up as you go along, tweak it a little bit asyou go along and it'll turn out fine :)
The base was sprouted wheat berries blended up with enough olive oil to make a thick batter, and a bit of sea salt and a bit of agave, then dehydrated until it was firm. I've tried loads of herby/flavoured pizza bases but really I just prefer a plain one, it tastes to me more like real bread.
Then I decided to put a layer of avocadoes instead of making nut/seed cheese, because I had some really lovely looking ripe avocadoes. I sliced one up really thin, lay the slices on the pizza and sprinkled it with nutritional yeast and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Then I made a similar tomato sauce to the one in the bruschetta recipe I posted, but with some oregano and other herbs added and spread it over the avo layer. Before I spread it I put it in the dehydrator for a while to get rid of the excess liquid, to stop the base getting soggy.
For the toppings I got some peppers and other veg I had on hand, chopped them up really small and marinated them in lemon juice, olive oil and pizza herbs and softened them in the dehydrator for about half an hour. I chopped some mushrooms really small and marinated them in nama shoyu, ACV and hemp oil and put them in the dehydrator too. Then I just threw them on top of the pizza! And that's all :)
