Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows of some good pear recipes?? I brought home a huge load of ripe and juicy pears from work the other day which we couldn't sell because of bruising and skin blemish-thingies. Other than the asthetics, they are absolutely delicious and although i am enjoying them plain i would love to make a nice pie/tart/cake/pudding/desert from them.
Pleeeeese let me know of any ideas!
Thanks :p

I've got a recipe called 'baby food' which is simply pear pureed with avocado - mmmm yummy!
also pear makes a lovely sweet base for green smoothies - I prefer it to banana.
I'm sure there are loads more ideas - lucky thing with all those lovely pears to ear.:D

Pear is in love with celery!! Chop them together and taste! Add some raisins, orange juice and walnuts - great salad served on the beads of greens.
I would make pearsauce - before they will go bad blend them together or use food processor for more chunky sauce and store in the closed jar in the fridge - it will hold for a week.

I love pears sliced up over baby greens and lettuces. Drizzle over that a bit of extra virgin olive oil and some balsamic and enjoy! Not sure if the balsamic qualifies as raw, but it has a wonderful, almost chocolate flavor when poured over the pears. Just use a bit. Hope you like it.

On the Balsamic - if you mix the tiniest bit with Apple Cider Vinegar it really transforms it! Tastes a lot like pure Balsamic!

smoothie
banana
pear
kale
celery
apple (opt)
In blender add pinch of water to start the process going. I just love adding yellow pears, soft kind, when available to smoothies.
Applesauce:
Apple
Pear
or Grapefruit
Pear
Enjoy.

The salad ideas are great!! Pears with spinach salad is a great one, however I change it up a bit and add dried cranberries and raisins, green onions and «caramelised» cinnamon pecans! mmmmmmmmmmm!

Oh and the sparkling pear wine stuff that that person mentioned, well theres wasn't raw but I love making raw versions of favorite cooked drinks. Juice a few pears and mix the juice with natural sparlking water, add some fresh chopped mint or a tiny bit of rosemary for a different and exciting flavor.
Also, pears make great tortes!
