HI Everyone!

I have a friend who wants to start the raw diet for her family, but 2 of her kids are allergic to ALL nuts, is this diet possible without that protein source? I know grains and greens have protein, but is it enough? Especially since I know most kids probably don't have that much of a taste for green foods in general. Being a mother of a special needs child, I belong to a forum for special needs kids, and have been trying to spread the word about how healing this diet is, and just want to be able to help this lady in this area, since she is very health conscious, and already a vegetarian, mostly organic foods. Thanks so much for any help!

Jessica

I think they can do without the nuts and be fine...but can they have seeds at all like sesame seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, etc.? As for getting greens in...for kids, the best way is through green smoothies that are fruity enough for those finicky little palettes. Also, a member here (forgot who it was) mentioned spirulina powder being an excellent source and that can be added to green smoothies as well as fresh greens.
