Just signed up... Ok, rundown on a quick tip

-25 yrs Old
-Male
-Hollywood Hills
-Work in the Arts
-Vitamixing for life... just got my first 5000. Variable and viable.
-Build up bicycles
-Ride on bicycels
-Avoiding death in LA riding bicycles
-Opening new worlds w/ raw food
-Here to learn from everybody, yes you!
-Potluck raw dinners at sundown
-Raw cheese cake for moon lit desserts
-Play/Write/Make music in a small room with wood ceilings.

Anybody anybody and or anybody in the LA area, let's do this. Very new to raw, and want to know as much as possible. Been borderline 100% vegan for a while after reading the China Study. Knocked my socks off. History of major illness in the family and want to take my own health into my own hands. Pills and surgery are seriously mind numbing after coming to understand what the underpinnings of diet really are, why not get real. Thanks, I love you. Have a beautiful ______. Day? Life? Lunch? You pick.

Give me a ringo.

I'm in Kona, May 8th through the 20th. Super excited. We shall keep in touch. Staying at Mauna Lani w/ family and friends. Raw in paradise, yes?

Take care, and thanks for the warmest of welcomes.

Well you've gone off and deserted me! But there's only so long one could make this place home. I couldn't blame you. The rain is pouring down right now, and it feels amazing. Pretending this is Napa Valley for the time being!

Hi Blake!

Nice to meet you and great post. I'm in Orange County. There are a few meetup groups in the area which are dedicated to raw living:

http://rawfood.meetup.com/202/

Definitely check them out- The first one gave me info on the Level One class I took (Alissa's teachings, but Diana was the instructor). It was an awesome class and I definitely recommend it!

I wish you the best on your raw journey!

Grew up in Orange County and my family still lives there... Laguna to be exact. The best raw I've had restaurant-wise is the joint Au Lac. The gentleman who runs it doesn't speak. I believe he took a vow of silence. Long story short... he hugged me on the way out and looked deep into my eyes. Lifted me off the ground, and I floated all the way home. True story.

Thanks for the tip on level 1 classes. I'm into that for reals.

I grew up in orange county too (Newport Beach actually). I *still* haven't had a chance to get to Au Lac (forgot they were closed Monday and tried to go), but I had heard that the chef is a monk who took a vow of silence. I can't wait to meet him.

118 is good too. Its in costa mesa next to the Camp (right across from the Lab on Bristol, right off the 405). I love their desserts and the lasagna.

Welcome to RFT! Great post! Do you have the book Green for Life? THat is another great book and has tons of recipes for green smoothies you can use in that vitamix you have! Not from your area but wanted to wish you well anyway!

You are lucky you live in California - tons of raw restaurants, etc. I would also get Rawvolutions cookbook and visit their restaurant sometime! You also might want to email Vegan Princess (you can do a search under the members list here) as I believe she lives somewhere by you and might be able to steer you to all the good places to eat and shop!

Hey Blake! Welcome to the group!!:D It's great to meet you. I love my 5000 too, what did I do before I had a VitaMix?!!;)

I'm far, far away in Florida, and I wish I had raw restaurants to choose from! We have one 45 min away & I'm just thankful for that!!

Best wishes!

Thanks for the welcome! Looks like your new calling in life has been made sure... Open the raw restaurant of your dreams!

Just kidding (only partially). Checked out the blog and the results for your family are miraculous. Keep inspiring me.
