Good morning... I found out about raw around the first of the year when I was doing some research about getting healthy. Being a nursing student has given me a pretty good understanding of nutrition and physiology, and eating raw foods just seems to make sense. Nursing school has been intense and stressful and I haven't taken care of my body over the past 2 years. My goal is to regain my health by the time I graduate in June. I've been incorporating more and more raw foods into my life over the past month and I'm feeling better and better every day. I'm looking forward to trying new recipes and getting to know some raw foodies. I'm the only person I know who's eating raw.

I know that when I mention this you might think AHHHHH....not another book to read (being in school and all). Alissa's book is great, especially if this is all new to you. The thing I like about her book is that eventhough it's quite large, it REALLY is a very easy read. The chapters are bite size, which is nice. Where you're in nursing you'll really injoy the information part, then there's the part about people who have had great success stories, the recipe section, which is quite large and then there's a part that tells you how to get started (menu's, shopping lists etc). Good luck and LOL....Judith:)

I'm ordering Alissa's book today, and I'm excited to read it when I take study breaks.

And I just saw that you teach a how-to Kombucha class in Olympia.. not too far for me to drive. I'll keep an eye on your website and hopefully sign up. $3 a bottle is an expensive habit.
