I've been thinking alot about crystalmoon's thread on toxins and plastic. I've gone to all glass for storage of my food but have a water cooler w/ 3 gallon polycarbonate jugs. The water is in them for weeks at a time. I KNOW this isn't good. I drink a ton of water. I am moving in a few months and can't afford to put a whole house or mega purifying system in. How do I get clean water in quantity to drink???
What do you guys do? The city water here is just terrible and loaded with chlorine, floride and no telling what other poisons. I know bottled spring water is not much better but seemed the lesser of two evils at the time. I do have a filter on my shower that makes a huge difference, just have to figure out the drinking water thing??

I'd appreciate any ideas~

I have been thinking the same thing. I use 1 gallon distilled water, but I've been considering the fact that I've been adding all this plastic to the environment. I've been thinking of a filter that goes at the sink. I'm hoping that someone else can add some insight for us both. Sorry, I've not been much help.

we have a "pur" filter that fits right over the nozzle of the kitchen sink. i live outside seattle and the water, unfiltered, tastes pretty much gag-able... the filtered water is nowhere near as good as various well-water i have had, but it does make it drink-able; it does as good or better a job as the britta. i dislike the britta for some reason; always felt like it was a cheap standard knockoff of a filtering system...didnt make the water taste good. anyway, i dont know what the pur really takes OUT, probably not everything, but it is handy to have it right on the faucet to rinse veggies and greens, instead of hassling with POURING the britta over the stuff...

I am seeking out springs in my area for water from the source! Anyone seen Daniel Vitalis on youtube yet?
