Hi,
Soon I will be purchasing a juicer, and am considering doing a juice fast, for maybe a week.
However, I have had a lot of issues in the past about control over food. I'm worried that if I stop eating for a week or so, I will want to stop eating all together.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, and I don't fast because of it.

I have been on both sides of ED-anorexic and a binge eater. If I struggled with too much control over my food I'd say don't do it. More recently, as a binge eater fasting helped tremendously. I guess my advice is to be HONEST with yourself. Don't justify why you are counting calories, and being obesessive (if that happens). We EDers LIE to ourselves over and over again to justify our behavior. RAW is about FREEDOM from all that crud, ya know?

Yeah, I have to say I have been on both sides of ED... binge/purge and anorexia. I gained a LOT of weight over the summer due to the bingeing and decided to flip that switch off by doing a 22 day juice fast. I have to say it really helped me both physically and mentally. The binges have since stopped. However I DID have very little desire to eat when I was done with the fast, as I was afraid of "getting fat" and also enjoyed the empty feeling inside. I am eating great now, 100 percent raw. I would not reccomend doing a fast quite yet if you still battle some demons. Balance your mind first (I know it's hard)... and good luck!

Thanks everyone. I have never really been a binger, just restricting/purging. I think I will wait a bit and maybe do a juice fast in the summer. I want to be 100% sure before I give it a go.
