Been 95% raw for 8 days now, would have been 100% but it hard to find and know where your food is coming from.
Anyway, the first few days I had gas (as expected) hunger(also expected) and a slight headche which was always expected.. After 3 days of this I havent got any of those anymore.
After 23 years of basically a mircowave diet I was expecting more of a detox,
Am now in my 8th day feeling fine, but not seeing the benefit of the raw diet as such, but am going to give it at least 2 months to kick in..
I was just wondering where my detox was?
It's different for everyone! Some people don't get major detox issues. I stopped drinking coffee, then stopped taking the Ritalin I had been taking for 10 years... that really pushed the detox for me. Then I had a few major emotional detox episodes weeks and months later.
It really does vary. It depends on what you're cutting out, the length of time, etc.
I will say that no matter what, this diet sets your body up to heal itself easily, so you could be healing internal problems or future problems you may not be aware of... without the symptoms of detox.

I'd be elated to not have any detox issues! I had strong emotional ones but very little on the physical side. Well I had awful issues when I stopped drinking caffeine but I knew that was coming.

Takeouts meals alot really unhealthy lifestyle... I was just expecting a big kick up the arse really...
But I guess your right when you say everyone is different, fingers crossed that was it ;0

Our bodies are amazing and can do amazing things when given the chance. They are so resilient! I think this is a testiment to how strong yours is and now that you're being nicer to it, it's rewarding you with no adverse side effects
Ruh-roh... You may have a lot of toxins that are in deeper layers, so it could just take a little while to get to major detox. OR...
Keep in mind that you may not see the symptoms of detoxification, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. When we all talk about "detox," we're really talking about the symptoms of it. It does not have to be painful for all of us!
I'll tell you this (close your eyes if you don't want TMI!)... I just had a monster-sized bowel movement. I don't have any symptoms now of detox. I feel great, etc. But I needed to do that, and I feel a lot of relief now. That was detox even though it was quick and painless! :D

Yeah I was veggie for 5 years until I just jumped into this...
Yeah I could have alot of toxins in deeper layers, I think this is more the case.
Although am planning on the liver cleanse this sat so I still might avoid the external detox mwhahaha
Thanks

I've never received such a positive response regarding poopie/potty talk! Only around here! :D
I really have a little happy dance when I know I got rid of a lot, though... There is a lot of satisfaction in detoxing down "there."

rhythmofthecosmos, it depends a lot on what you are eating. There are various levels of detox, and the body also has its own cycles. If you want to see more of it, then you can step up the level of detoxification by reducing your intake of fats for example. You could do some fruit days for example, or some green smoothie days with just fruits and green leafy vegetables. You could skip breakfast and allow the body to continue its elimination for a bit longer. You can include one day of fasting each week, or some days of juice fasting to speed things up.
Detox means that toxins which are being released into the blood are not eliminated fast enough by the body. So may be your elimination channels are working perfectly. May be they are not though (more likely).... In any case, stick it out and give your body a chance to sort itself out, it will if you persevere.....

Someone famous in the RFM said he didn't have any detox for a couple years, then all of a sudden went through MASSIVE symptoms. crazy.

This is my second day without coffee and just hearing that you still have it along with RAW food makes me wish I had a cup before me now. How long have you been raw and do you have anything in your coffee? See, :o I am dwelling on the temptation. Bad girl I am. But coffee makes me hungrier as it is a stimulant so it really isn't good for anyone with an eating disorder and mine has been terrible cravings for sugar since I was 5.

Hi rhythmofthecosmos,
I am another person who has not experienced detox, and this is someone who went straight from MAJOR bingeing on processed SAD (or in our case SED, E for English ;) ) straight into raw. It was the same each time i entered into juice fasting too, there was a bit of weakness on some days, but nothing significant. It makes me wonder too what could be happening, but i guess our bodies are wiser and more in control than we give them credit for.

Hey ...I have been trying to go raw for 6months. read the book 80-10-10 by Dr Graham. Finally did it. Went for 8 days...I normally run 30K every week. After 4 days I tryed to run was way to weak. after 8 days my legs were so heavy after 2-3 min. I was beat. Does anyone have any Idea if that was me detoxing or something else. I went back to eatting cooked after 8 days and on the 10th day ran 10 K in 59 min. any ideas????

what were you eating on raw? were you eating enough fats? I would think athletes would need extra fats/dense carbs for sustained energy on long runs.
