Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, I'm 30, married to J 34, and I'm the mama of 4 kiddos. Destiny 10, Jesse 8, Grace 5, and Faith 2. We live on the Space Coast of Florida where my husband works for the city and I stay at home and homeschool my kiddos.
I'm new to the raw lifestyle. I've been vegetarian for about 8 months. I lean towards being a junk food vegetarian, though, and want to eat healthier. DH is diabetic, also, and is interested as well. We actually saw a TV special Dr Oz did where he kept a group of people in a zoo (LOLOL) and fed them an all raw diet for something like 21 days. It was amazing how their health changed, and that led me to research more and find this board.
I'm purchasing Alissa's book tomorrow when DH gets paid and can't wait to get it because I have SO many questions :D
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all as I start on this journey :)

And you should be excited to get Alissa's book, you won't be disappointed, it really is the best one out there. Let us know what you think after you read it. Good Luck...Judith:)
Oh, if you can get the DVD, it really is worth it, it's fun to see what Alissa is like and how she really can make things quickly and with ease.

Hi, I'm Wendi (tvillemom) and I live in NC...I also homeschool. Great to meet you. Alissa's book will change your life, and DH's if he decides to give RAW a try. I know people who personally have taken out meat, dairy and white sugar...and just added veggies (about 50% raw) and gotten off insulin SHOTS! This board is wealth of information.

It has given me hope seeing all the stories about people getting off of their insulin because that what J is on.. he gives himself a shot every morning and evening. If I get nothing out of a raw diet but getting him off of that, it would be worth it.

Hello Sarah and welcome!
Wishing you luck in your raw food journey, and for your DH - I say it's entirely possible to get off the insulin.

Welcome to the group Sarah! This is such a great bunch of people. I remember that Dr. Oz special, I had already made the leap to raw & thought it was so cool to see that!;)
I wish you much success on your quest to health!
