I eat a lot of food with fiber and take flax seed powder but now my stomach is so large and bloated and i can't have a normal bowel movement.
It's been that way for over a week and i feel so full and sometimes i find myself breathing heavy.
What can i do to get my bowels back to moving normally?
I feel so fat now.

flax seed powderFlax seed soaks up a lot of water. I wonder if that could be contributing to the bloat ?

get an organic herbal colonic/ colon cleanse. that will get you moving. there might be an ingredient in whatever your eating that's causing the gas, and therefore maybe it's not the fiber.
example: i had that problem when i ate onion bread. till i realized there's wheat in the soysauce i was using. so now i use wheat free and have no probs. but the large amount of fiber i was eating didn't change.

JUICE! & even a day or so fast, or modified fast, can give your body time to process all that's stored up...

also, drink lotsa water,

get a good amount of exercise, especially walking),

& give yourself a tummy massage, (gently pushing in & down just under your ribs, & over your digestive system, not really massaging, more just pushing in (with your palm, & the side of your hand under your ribs) as deep as you comfortably can...

...& maybe drink some mild laxative tea?

When you up your fiber intake, you need to really up your water intake, too, because fiber swells...

...& 'they' say that for every 10-20 lbs you're overweight (up to a point) you need another 8 ounce glass of water over the 6-8+ glasses a day most folks need (sometimes not as much if you're eating lotsa juicy produce...)

Hope things get moving soon, & that you feel better!
& there's nothing to forgive, this is what the forum is for, silly!

When this happened to me after eating a lot of flax crackers for a week I did a salt water flush. Are you familiar with it? 32 oz of spring water with 2 teaspoons of uniodized sea salt. Mix it together, shake it up and drink it down within 10-15 minutes. It will run through your colon and not filter to your kidneys, as this formula is the same consistency as your blood. It's best to do it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Then hang around the toilet for 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on your body. In other words, you'll be releasing a lot and it will be urgent. And don't make it a habit! It's not good to flush your colon too much because you will flush out your healthy bacteria or flora.

If the SWF sounds too drastic for you...green smoothies, apples and chewing on ginger root get my intenstines moving also. Worst case scenario, a cup of senna tea will probably do the trick. Drink plenty of water too - sometimes we forget this is an essential item to keep our bowels happy and moving. Whenever I increase my water intake I notice a significant (positive) difference with my eliminations.

Hope you find some relief. Being bloated and gassy is not fun.

I took a very short enema, it was just a flush but it helped, i was blocked up:D
You won't believe how much better i feel, i didn't know that about flax seeds, thanks for the education.
Thank you all so much, i thought i was going to blow up and disappear:) into space, i didn't know what to do.
You all came to my rescue.

I would do only juicy fruits for a day or so and see if that helps too.

You know i feel so much better.
I've been taking a fiber made mostly of flax seeds and other herbs, maybe that was the problem.

Glad you're feeling better :D

Please be sure to drink loads of water when you're eating lots of flax :)

Isn't that funny (but not in the haha sort of way!) that taking extra fiber products did not help with elimination. So strange. But I guess mother nature makes some products that are hard to beat for the body!

I'm glad you're feeling better.
