But I dont see raw ones?I recall reading something about the Hemp seeds sold in the US were cooked so that they wouldn't sprout. I just recalled this from my memory when I read your post so my info isn't a done deal. Has anyone else heard this or have info on the raw status of Hemp seed ?

Yes, Alissa's store does sell them.

Also, a notice or reminder to our members...she really appreciates it when people do not post other sources for things she sells on her forum.

From the Rules and Guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33779):

"3. No posting links to other sites that sell products that are sold on Alissacohen.com. Instead, you may want to consider buying from Alissa in order to support the continued function of this site since it isn't free to run. No, you are not obligated to buy from our store but please be respectful by not listing links of other sites that sell items that we sell, whether theyre “cheaper” or not. If anyone wants to find lower prices they are welcome to search for them on the internet or locally..."

i emailed nutiva last night and this is the response that i got back from them.

Dear Lindsey,
Our organic shelled hempseeds have the outer shell removed. That is the only processing done to them; they are not sterilized or irradiated, There is misinformation about this in a book by Gabriel Cousins. In fact, no hempseeds that we are aware of being sold in the US for human consumption are irradiated. Some whole seeds sold by other companies are roasted to prevent them from sprouting, but these are labeled as roasted.

Sincerely,
Mark

Oh really? I was under the impression that you weren't sure if she sold them or not when you said, "I think Alissa sells them and so does D.wolf.:confused" But my reminder was mainly to the (now removed) posts that were linking to other sites. I didn't read in your post that you were looking for a bulk buy. But again, Google may be best utilized in that event...sorry :o

I hip hopped over to the RFT store and found them under "supplements" and put in a order in between posting. But I am still looking for bulk;)
By the way ;why are they under "supplements"? I nearly missed them!

Now THAT you'll have to ask the folks over at Alissacohen.com! But my guess would be that perhaps it's cause a lot of folks look at it as more of a superfood (like green powder) and add it to stuff like shakes, smoothies, etc. But I'm really not sure why that is...good question!
