I used to think that about kale. The only kind I could get was the curly and each time I tried it I would gag. I FINALLY cut it up into bite sized pieces and marinated it on the counter in a container for about 5 hours with oil, vinegar, garlic, tamari, sea salt, blended first. Oh my gosh! It is delicious and softened up just enough to still have a bite to it. It only took me 7 years of dabbling in and out of raw to discover this! I know I am not to quick on the uptake... Just wanted anyone else out there who might not think it could be good - to TRY it marinated. I also put in some cut up carrots and red onion and made a 'parmesan cheese' to sprinkle on it (brazil nuts, sea salt, nutrition yeast (1 T or so) and garlic. Really really good. Have a great raw daw everyone. Go out and get u some kale too....

Kale salad is blazing.

I've been cutting up kale and marinating it in lemon juice, lime juice and agave.

kale has always been on of my favorite cooked foods and I'm learning to lvoe it raw too. I usu. make the marinated greens, but after 1 or 2 servings I put it in the dehydrator and make kale chips out of it. I can eat 2 bunches of kale in one sitting if it's dehydrated. :o

thanks for the idea!
i love kale cooked, and thought i would love it raw... but all i could stomach was the smallest leaf mixed in with a giant green smoothie.

I love kale chips....I want to try the ones that are coated. I think they are called "sweet goddess chips". But I love them just sprinkled with braggs....alittle evoo..dry until crispy. Yep, better than potato chips.

Yesterday I read about someone freezing kales leaving and sprinkling them over salads. Haven't tried it yet. Interesting idea.
