I'm so proud of myself- I managed to make my wonderful boyfriend baked brie cheese with crackers for dinner (my favorite snack when I was ovo-lacto veg), and I didn't have any. Instead I ate my mock salmon pate with celery (which BF helped me eat too). This is a really big deal for me since baked brie is/was my favorite treat... I need to find some raw "cheese" recipes.
I just wanted to share and didn't know where else to do it. Its really difficult since nobody else I know is raw and will see this as the personal triumph I feel it is.
Thanks for letting me share :o I would love to hear any of your stories about resisting the temptation to slip back into your old eating habits. I see each instance as a huge triumph. For now I am just taking it meal to meal.

I like to think of those triumphs as stepping stone moments where you are able to come up to an obstacle and instead of it becoming a stumbling block you are able to use it as a stepping stone on your way to success on your raw food journey. Congratulations on your stepping stone.

Well done! I know how bad it can be having it right in front of your nose!
Wow that's huge! That used to be my fave snack too!!!

Good for you. I think the feeling of accomplishment you get from resisting feels better than anything bad for you could possibly taste.

Thanks for all the encouragement!! :) You all are the best. I knew the fellow raw foodies would understand... it is sooo hard to actually *make* something that you can't eat, especially when it is a former favorite. I don't know how those of you who have families that are not raw cook for them. It takes a lot of willpower. All of you here on RFT help me with that willpower, so THANK YOU!! :)
On another note- my boyfriend (the carnivore- he actually eats pretty healthy, no fast food or anything, but he does eat meat, eggs and poultry pretty often) actually loved the mock salmon pate and has expressed an interest in going 75% raw! I'm so proud of him. So, we made the deal that I make the raw foods, and he can add it to the other stuff in his diet. I'm so glad he is so open to it! I know he will feel better when eating more fruits/veggies. He's in pretty good shape already (works out, etc), so he isn't doing it for aesthetic reasons, but because he sees how well I'm doing on it. It helps when the people around you are at least supportive. Now I just need to find more yummy recipes that appeal to meat eaters. :p

Hi!
Cute name!
I must make the mock salmon pate since it seems to have gone down so well.
Anyway, well done on resisting, that's great just in itself but also will boost your confidence, I believe, after all, you've done it! You've resisted once so you'll do it again.
FYI, by mistake I made a raw cream cheese sauce which I must post in the recipe section:
1-2 servings:
1/4 avocado
2 tomatoes
1/4 red pepper
olive oil
salt
pepper
Blitz it y voilá! It even looks like cheese sauce. I considered making it and dehydrating it for a while in the future to see if it becomes a more solid spreadable cheese.
Gnam!
