Pleased to meet you! I am a raw loving, green living, biodegradable gal who lives in Calgary, Alberta--surrounded by cattle farmers and the oil & gas industry, but living my truth as best I can. ;)

I suffered from ulcerative colitis for about 15 years and was fortunate to discover a book by Paul Nilson last August 2007 describing how he healed himself from this disease by eating raw. I decided I had nothing to lose by going raw and everything to gain (since the medical profession wanted to take out my colon). Other than some slips over the holiday season, I have been raw since then and it has really transformed my life.

On a physical level I have more energy, no more asthma or allergy symptoms, and no more colitis symptoms. I've lost 30 lbs and am now my ideal weight. I have no problems falling asleep or sleeping soundly anymore, no more night sweats either. I know my body will continue to heal itself and am looking forward to some tests down the road confirming that my colon is fully healed and healthy!

I am a spiritual person who has been honouring the earth for many, many years now, yet becoming a raw vegan has deepened this even more. I feel like my chakras are sparkling, like my vibration is higher, like I'm glowing from the inside out. My connection to and love for the earth is even stronger, I have become more active in animal rights, I have a strong desire to find more ways to be green and help look after Gaia.

I wonder if there are any other pagan raw foodies here. It still amazes me how many pagans I meet who smoke, drink to the point of being hung over the next day, eat lots of meat an dprcessed foods, and generally abuse the temple of their bodies and the precious earth that they claim their spirituality is based upon. :(

We each have our own path to follow and I'm grateful for where mine has taken me thus far! Many blessings for your journey!

I have studied paganism and wicca before and I, too, was surprised at the eating and recreational habits posted on some boards! I totally agree that Earth religions inherently have a deep respect for the body and also Earth's creatures and environment! Meat eating and other destructive habits do not mesh with that premise.

Hi there, i am really inspired by your post thank you so much for sharing your healing journey. I have recently rejected the religion of my childhood & am very drawn to learning about pagan beliefs. Since becoming vegan & exploring raw food I have had huge spiritual shifts :D
I would be grateful if you could email me any books you think may be helpful

That is so great that you have lost so much weight and your health has improved so much! Good for you.

I'm not a pagan, although "Pagano" is my mom's maiden name! lol go figure. I am very spiritual though and believe in honoring Gaia, and I also believe in a lot of things one would consider metaphysical. We manifest the world we create in our minds, I believe.

Really, raw seems to be the best way to leave the smallest possible footprint on the earth. Whenever we consume what was processed, we not only consume that thing, but all of the things that were needed to create that food (such as factories which use electricity, gas, water, and packaging which was taken from trees and also created in factories.) By eating raw, we are ensuring that we only take from the earth that which is necessary. Whenever I've explained my decision to go raw from this vantage point, it seems like people (coworkers in particular) leave me alone at that point, since who really wants to say "Oh, but I want to waste the earth's natural resources so that I can consume excessive amounts of processed fructose". lol

Anyway, its great to meet you and I look forward to learning more about your beliefs!

A warm welcome. It amazes me how much being affects one's spirituality; I have found it really increases sensitivity. I'm sure you will flourish on it.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!! It sounds like you have been doing an amazing work in your life and transforming yourself from the inside out. that is wonderful!

I agree with you ~ regardless of a person's religion... their path will take them where they need to be at that moment... learning the lessons they need to learn... I have a very deep love for Mother Earth... animals and life ~ yet I had to walk down my path ... and occasionally stumble, fall and crawl.... but I learned those lessons - and those lessons --- Led me here...

blessings on your journey ~ you are really doing a wonderful work!!

merry meet.....
