Trying to put my questions into one thread as i keep thinking of so many.
I have a question about aloe vera and corn.

The first one is about corn, im wanting to make a recipe for corn and flax crackers, last week a went to eat some corn that was in a bag in the freezer, it was organic(the rest of my family are not raw). but then i saw the label 'Caution!:DO NOT EAT RAW' does this mean that the corn is cooked and then frozen?..why cant i eat it. can i eat raw corn straight off the cob? im unsure as to what corn i can eat raw and what corn i cant eat raw.

My question about aloe vera is that i have an aloe vera plant that iv had for a few months, iv been reading about the benefits of eating it but i also understand there are lots of varieties and mine has no label on to say what type it is. is it safe to eat some of it? or should i find another aloe vera plant that is safe to eat.

Another question i have is about essences and oils.
I have raw old pressed coconut oil, but cant find anywhere to get raw cold pressed olive oil from in the uk. how long do they usually last, as the coconut oil was quite expensive.
essences,Does anybody use them in food, know anywhere to get them in the uk, and are most of them raw? im thinking vanilla and mint, not as good as the fresh stuff but i would like to add it to my own raw chocolates.

Corn: frozen corn is processed. It goes through a factory to get the kernals off the cob. Usually frozen food is blanched and then packaged and then frozen. Blanching would eliminate the "raw" part from most if not all frozen veggies and fruits.

So back to the "don't eat raw label": probably because of all the processing steps the company is worried bacteria or virus got into their food chain and they are protecting themselves from problems.

Corn off the cob is OK and good. Corn you take off the cob and freeze without blanching is OK. I'd stay away from anything processed - including freezing. You have no idea where it's been and what's been done to it.

Oils: cold pressed olive oil will last for about 6 months outside the refrigerator before turning rancid. You will have no problem figuring out it's rancid.

Aloe veras: check the internet to detrmine which kind of alo vera you have and if it is the edible kind. As a guess, if you take about 1 inch of the leaf and open it up and squeeze it - and you get a lot of liquid that is a little like jelly - it's edible. Or put it on a burn or cut and see if it helps heal the injury.

Thanks for the reply:)

I dont eat many frozen fruit and never veggies anyway it was a one off with the corn but i didnt use it, but i wont use any bought frozen fruit or veg from now on, i want to be a 100% and will do anything to keep it like that.

I might even try growing my own corn, i think it looks beautiful when its growing!

6months, thats brilliant:D

Iv used the aloe vera on my skin and nothing bad happened, i use it on my face alot and my lips and they have both benefitted from it.
I didnt realise how quickly it grows! one of the most amazing plants iv ever had.
