Since I'm juicing alot more it seems I am rapidly going through my fruits/veges. Today I realized I am going to have to buy in bulk. Does Costco or Sam's have any fresh organic fruits/veges? and sometimes I read how people purchase frozen packaged fruits. Are those raw?

I do...I don't eat totally organic but Costco does have "some" organic items such as spinach, mixed baby greens, carrots and maybe a few other items.

But I get bananas, pineapple, sweet onions, frozen strawberries (to my knowledge, most frozen fruits are raw and not blanched as frozen veggies are), frozen blueberries, spinach, lettuce, carrots and more from there.

Excellent information Rawkinlocs, thank you so much. Your list is coming with me to Costco and my mom just told me about Growers Direct as well.

I love Costco.
They even have giant bags of RAW PINE NUTS! It says raw right on the ingredient list.
I get big plastic tubs of Earthbound Farm's organic baby greens, which sadly, I can eat in like two days.
They used to have big boxes of Lara bars for cheap at the costco near me, but they sadly stopped carrying them a few months ago.

Pinenuts? Really? That's been an on-going issue for me. I've got this great recipe: pinenuts, jicama, carrots, olive oil, pinch of salt and everytime I go to buy a bag it's $7 and gone immediately...Costco here I come!

I buy at Castco...

organic of course

carrot, lettuce, spinach and few more... depends ... i like their avocados
they have nuts and i found there good oil (raw)
they also have spices and last time I have seen there vanilla beans, they have dried fruits too- (not sure if organic)...

i have not gone there for a long time... i have Whole Foods near by :)

I get a lot of my produce from sams and costco as well as nuts, and extra virgin olive oil, lara bars, and dates.

I don't buy all organic either but at my sams club and costco their spring mix is, baby carrots, apples, and other things here and there are.

I also buy frozen strawberries and blueberries there too.

Oh and last week I bought vanilla beans at Costco which was cool to see.

They also sell organic flax seed that is already milled into a flour as well.

Costco has been getting an increasing number of organics--produce and non-produce items. Baby organic spinach, mixed spring greens, baby portabellas, all kinds of citrus right now, and pineapples that are fantastically sweet. Just love shopping there. Have not been to Sam's club since I went back east. They had a nice variety there, too.

dalimeindacoconut--do you have a set recipe with quantities for the pinenut recipe?

Thanks

For Lady Green Jeans: I use about a cup of pinenuts/half a jicama/a couple carrots/olive oil/a little salt/ and sometimes nutmeg. Throw in food processor, wrap in a lettuce leaf lightly brushed by a lemon...I can't believe it's not butter good!

Not all Costcos have lots of organics. I've shopped at ones that only have organic spring mix and carrots, nothing else. :(

Diffferent regions carry different products. I know that neither the costco or sams by me carry raw nuts, lara bars, etc and Id say there is an ok amount of organic produce.

I shop at Gordon Food Service which is a restaurant supply place that's open to the public, Sam's Club/Costco on a smaller scale.
I've bought huge bags of baby spinach super cheap and I get all my frozen fruit from there- except bananas which I freeze myself.

Costco also has the best avocados around...at least around here, though not organic.

We get HUGE packs of tomatoes from Costco so I can dry my own. We also get huge bags of pecans, almonds and walnuts. Not organic but organic nuts seem hard to come by in any situation.

Hell yeah I know! They always seem to be perfectly ripe, smooth and buttery. Yum!
