Ok even some of the recommended organic ones I've found have alcohol in them, is that safe?
Like if I wanted to punch up the peach flavor of my smoothie and add a few drops, am I going to get a buzz?

No, you won't get a buzz. But there are some that do not have alcohol...Frontier brand makes both with and without alcohol - at least I know in vanilla flavor, but not sure about the other flavors they offer.

You're correct Rawkinlocs. You have to look for the bottles that say "Alcohol Free" and "Flavor" instead of "Extract." They have a nice selection - coffee, mint, coconut, etc.
If you use the extracts prepared with alcohol, you use such a small amount that the alcohol content is insignificant. I prefer the non-alcoholic though. I also like vanilla beans and powder.

Raven- I'd love to try the powdered form of extracts, I found a great site that has every flavor imaginable, does the powdered form measure up to the liquid form taste wise?
Where do you get your powder extracts?
