Hi I hope someone can help me answer this? Why should you not eat fruit and nuts together? I am not totally raw and really just beginning this life style. (I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and starting slow) But I just saw that you are not supposed to eat them together? Now I have been eating fresh fruit and raw walnuts for breakfast for weeks LOL.

My typical breakfast has been:
1 orange
1 banana
1 apple
1/4 cup walnuts

lunch is more fruit and a veggie salad with lemon and red wine vinegar

Dinner has been cooked

It's something about not combing fruit with protein and other food combining principles - different foods digesting at different rates and fermentation in the stomach causing bloating gas, etc.

But the thing is, in the beginning stages, when you're coming off of eating cooked foods (especially if it was the SAD) then it's fine as long as you don't have any problems with it and don't feel bad after eating it. I can eat it in moderation like a lot of the raw desserts are made with nuts and fruit. I used to be able to eat fruit/nut combos freely but now, sometimes I notice the effects of it.

But overtime, as your body gets cleaner and makes adjustments to raw, then you may notice that these combinations no longer agree with you and then you'll need to cut back on them or cut them out altogether.

I don't understand that at all......Fruit and nuts are both fruit because they both come from trees. I eat them together now and have been for my whole raw journey (13 months), with no problems. I believe they belong together.....but thats just me.

Peace.
