Hi there,
My name is Tara and this is my first time on the site. I have been 100% raw for 17 days, the first 6 were AMAZING. My husband was asking me what I was doing, my skin looked great and I lost 4 pounds. Now here I am day 17 and my weight is back, my wrinkles are more apparent and my cellulite...well:) not so pretty. I was wondering of anyone experience any of this, could it be detox and then I will return to the 'glowing' state?
I run 2 miles atleast 4 days a week. My diet is green smoothies (coconut oil, flax seed oil, rasberries, spinich) or green lemonade and fruit in the am, salad w/1/2 avocado, and salad for dinner (dressing of olive oil and parsley) I have been having some flax crackers and dates and honey (love them)
Any advice to keep this going? Energy is so so, I have two little boys 4 and 2 at the beginning I was keeping up with them, but that last week has been really challening!
Goals are 105lbs. toned and tight body, increased energy, health and peace of mind

sounds like detox to me. 17 days so far isn't that long compared to how long you were eating SAD. keep up what you are doing and your body will even itself out and find it's balance. keep it up though it sounds like you're doing really great! good luck and welcome

I would agree that it is detox. Detox seems to be so different for everyone and sometimes it just doesn't make sense, but hey, we've all kind of messed up our bodies so who are we to say how it should be.
Well done for getting so far anyway, 17 days is great so don't get discouraged.
One thing though, is there perhaps something that you are keeping in your diet, like coffee or wheat which may be causing you issues? Or perhaps there is a new food or supplement which you have started including which makes you feel a little bad?
Either way, just keep going, day by day, you will improve, with a doubt. Don't worry, you won't be the ONE person who doesn't feel good and lose weight on the raw food diet. Just trust the food; 100% natural and pure and full of energy, keep going and know that if you just keep going forward, you will improve.
Sorry, btw, I can't say that I've experienced the same thing but that's because I've never gotten through 17 days of high raw, so you're way ahead of me in that respect!
Welcome!

I had lose a little weight and then my constipation problems came back and now my scales don't show a weightloss.
But my clothes are a little looser and i'm tired quite often so yes i agree it is detox.
I think our bodies have been out of shape for so long that it doesn't know which direction to go in:) well that's the way i see it.
Soon everything will mellow out and our bodies will fall in line:)
Waiting for that day, i have to keep the faith till then and not look back.
Great compliment from your hubby, i'm looking forward to more than your face looks bright and clear:D more about the body, Hee, Hee!

it's detox, i bet. but here's the key, which i am still learning about:
your body will detox on a 100% raw diet at such a quick pace that most people do not have a clean enough intestine to clear out the junk quick enough.
help your body release the toxins by doing a colonic (like for a month) and hydro colon therapy, go to a sauna or bikram yoga as often as possible (to sweat, sweat, sweat), start dry skin brushing and drink more water than you think you need. these things all massively speed up detox. especially the whole intestine/colon thing....get that elimination organ working like it did when you where a kid and you can kiss all your aches and pains good bye.

Thank you all so much for your replies;) I really needed the encouragement. Still going strong, I do not have coffee or wheat in my diet, but I am big on green tea;) I love my tea, and I do have organic raw wine. So...that may be a little of it as well.
I will hang in there
Thanks so much, truly it means a lot
