So tuesday night I had broke my 15 day juice fast and boy am I paying for it. I kinda just jumped into solids again and ever since I ate solid food I have been fatigue, weighed down and feel like s***. I woke up this morning and felt like I was going to throw up so I didnt go to work. I slept til 11 and attempted a Salt water flush. I am not having the same reaction with it as I had when I was on the juice fast, meaning I have not gone to the bathroom yet, which worries me. I dont know what to do. I am only going to have smoothies for the rest of the week but this is terrible. I've already gained a pot belly back and I just am miserable. What should I do?

I am glad you took the day off. Try to relax today and I would go back to juice/smoothies. I think your digestion would appreciate that. Get some rest drink plenty of water and unwind. I hope you feel better soon.:o

what about probiotics? the pot belly is just bloat, not fat. you just need to poop! and your intestinal bacterial situation is probably out of whack since you didn't ease back into the solids. how about warm-brewing that "smooth-move" tea?

hang in there! the body will rebalance itself, you just have to get out of its way... (don't we all!)

maybe try some enemas or colonics?

hi solongng,
your body WILL rebalance with time, and with the support of a calm mind- this stressing and feeling bad about how you broke the fast and the symptoms you are now experiencing is just prolonging the 'feeling better' time from arriving. i have been through this several times (fasting and then allowing no time for gentle transitioning back to solids) and so i know the almost despair-like state you can get yourself into. Just remember that despite the all-round uncomfortableness you are experiencing, it will pass. Smoothies for the rest of the week sounds good, but don't override any genuine hunger signals you may receive- my advice would be to just follow your body's messages and let go of any fixed ideas you have in your mind to try and 'correct' the situation. Our bodies are much stronger than we think.

You are going to be fine!

Lisa
