I am usually very cold so I normally crave bagel or muffin in the morning but am trying to break the habit. Must be emotional cause I know its no good for me and always give in!

Anyways, anybody have any smoothie mixes they like.
I tried some almond milk with blueberries but I still feel hungry.
I dont care for just plain fruit cause I'm so cold in the morning until I wake up!

I think breakfast is my hardest meal and probably most important!

...try adding a couple of bananas and some ground flax seed to your smoothie....it will thicken it up.....a dash of cinnamon and some agave might be tasty there too!........................

I sprout buckweat then dehydrate it again. In the morings I will put some small chopped apple, raisins, choped almonds(soaked then dehydrated also) and whole oats NOT ROLLED and half a larabar crumbled up. put that in a bowl and add almond milk. the longer it sits the more like oatmeal it will be.

This will get you through any hunger. But it is not for wieghtloss I do it only on like sat. or sunday.

Here are a few of our warming family's favorites in the morning.

Cinnamon Raisin French Toast
serves 3 or 4
This turns out really fluffy has that French toast texture only better!
Ingredients
• 1 cup golden flax seeds, ground
• 1 apple, juiced
• large handful raisins
• a lot of cinnamon (maybe 2 Tbsp.)
• ½ teaspoon nutmeg
• sprinkle cloves
• agave drizzled on top

Grind flax seeds in a coffee grinder to get a flour like consistency. Mix everything but the agave nectar and dehydrate for about 6 hours. Sprinkle with a bit more cinnamon on top and drizzle with agave. Simple and satisfying for brunch or dessert. Pair it with some fresh O.J. or some fresh fruit.

Sweet Potato Dip

2 c peeled, chunked sweet potato
1/2 c almond butter
2-3 dates
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp powdered ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Blend all until smooth in a food processor. This tastes like pumpkin pie filling. I dip apple slices in it. Since it is made with a root veggie it really warms me up.

Alissa's Granola

I made Alissa's granola recipe but did not have any apricots in the house so I substituted one ripe banana and soaked raisins instead. It was wonderful as granola bars and crushed up with almond milk too.

Green Shake

1 Braeburn apple cored and sliced
1 ripe warm or frozen banana (slice and freeze without peel)
1 c. fresh baby spinach
1 stalk celery
3/4 c. filtered water
1 tsp Alissa's green food powder

Put everything in a high powered blender until smooth. This shake always warms me up even when I use a frozen banana.

If you want to hunt for more recipes, I suggest you go to Gone Raw (http://goneraw.com/recipes). People post their new creations there; the first two recipes came from that site.

Hope these help :)

Thanks! This should help alot. :)

I think I am worried about combining too much and keeping it balanced. Typical all or nothing.

Lasagna. My kind of woman. :D I love non-traditional breakfast foods.

I rarely want something sweet for breakfast. Another thing we're conditioned to do that is wrong.

What I think is funny is, before raw, people would eat pizza at night then eat it cold in the a.m. for breakfast.

With raw, they're thinking they HAVE to have something they think of AS "breakfast". Absolutely conditioning; absolutely not right. PLAY with your food! It's RAW!

I love drinking smoothies in the morning or fresh squeezed blend of grapefruit, oranges, tangerines, and blood oranges. Carrot, apple, ginger, garlic, parsley, celery juice blends is the tops. My body screams for that.

I have some sweet crackers with gogi berries in the cracker blend that are awsome with almond or cashew butter.

Crepes are easy. Dehydrate them ahead of time and have in the fridge a vanilla creme frosting for the middle, add some fresh sliced apples and maybe a dash of carmel sauce. So heavenly delicious.

Raw apple pie is rawlicious goodness with a vanilla creme sauce. So easy to make too.

Hope this helps.

I like having liquids first thing, normally I make fruit smoothies of mango, banana, pineapple and some berries. If I need something really substantial though I soak a handful of cashews overnight and in the morning blend with some water, a banana, vanilla, and often cacao, lucuma, hemp and maca combinations and a bit of whatever sweetener's on hand. Goes SUPER CREAMY especially in vita-mix.
