I stopped using bath and cleaning products in June. My hair is no longer greasy but I have a lot of sebum on my scalp. I know its supposed to be there, but this seems like an awful lot. When it drys out it flakes and looks like really terrible dandruft. If I don't wash my hair everyday i wake up the next with head and scalp completely covered in this stuff. I can't leave the house with out having my hair in a pony tail, it is so noticable. The rest of my skin's oil glands have also seemed highly over active since. I don't want to use anything acidic on my hair, as to not damage my scalp. I know some sebum is supposed to be there, but this is too much. What do I do?

Instead of putting something acidic in your hair, try putting some baking soda dissolved in water. Baking soda is a base (alkaline).
