I just finished reading Alissa's book and I am on day 3 of going raw. I joined this group for support and information because I am so new at this. My goal is to remain 100% raw and so far I am doing pretty good. The only food I haven't given up cold turkey is coffee. The headaches are unbearable so I am slowly reducing my intake and hope to be completely off caffeine in 7-10 days.

I am 41 years old and my main reason for going raw is that I have seen how healthy, and full of energy that people on the raw diet become. It seems that in the past few years I have lost energy and always feel tired and fatigued, have aches and pains...ect..

It is great to be here and i hope to make some new friends and learn a lot along the way.

Welcome! This is a fun and supportive place. You can search the forums and find lots of info. The coffee thing will work out a you eat raw. I was a devout tea drinker. I felt sad thinking about not having tea time. As I ate raw, I just drifted away from the tea. Best wishes, and ENJOY!

thank you for the warm welcome everyone! Today is day 5 of my raw transformation and I am feeling great! I have more energy and I slept less than usual last night. I have noticed that my sense of smell has gotten better. At a staff meeting yesterday there was 3 boxes of donuts on the table in front of me and the smell was so strong. I did not even think about eating one. That is quite an acomplishment for me.

I wish I had learned about this way of life years ago.

Thanks Starfire. I am into my second week and I am still going strong. My dh has been eating raw also, but he has had a few slip ups. I am feeling great and starting to get into a rthym now with my eating. This forum has given me so much information and I don't think I would have gotten this far without it or Alissa's book.

Didn't you just love Alissa's book....sounds like your doing great but I'm sorry about the coffee headaches. I've never drank coffee but it seems like everyone has something that's hard to get away from....for me it was the sweets, thank goodness for all the raw desserts. Good Luck....Judith:)
