Hi All -
I haven't posted in a long time (couldn't get my username to work, which was rawcanadagirl - so now I guess I am CrazyDelicious :) ....
I visit every now and then to see what's up and last week I read a ton of posts re: Broccoli Soup. This made me curious, as I have never enjoyed any raw soup EVER - I think I made 3 or 4 recipes I hated before I quit trying to make the soup altogether (though they made good crackers LOL)..
Anyway, the number of posts inspired me to try one last time to make soup. I dusted off Alissas book, managed to get the page open (I used this book heavily a few years back, so may have gotten some ingredients on the pages - and by "some", I mean alot) and made the soup. I halved the recipe and made it with cashews instead, adding lots of spice, and I REALLY enjoyed it! It gave me enough energy for a tough workout as well! Now I don't know if my tastes have changed, or my prep has improved, but thanks all for the inspiration! I will be definately making more soups in the future!
Also, as a side note, I have made a few things from Alissas book as well in the past week. I only really use cookbooks now for when I want to get really fancy or am having guests over, or want to impress (like the book "Raw" by Charles Trotter/Roxanne Klein) but I forgot how simple and tasty Alissas recipes are. I forgot about the crab cakes, almost tuna, and the carrot/pecan burgers! I ate those for years! I think I will be revisiting her book - my diet could use some variety and I really miss some of those recipes!
Anyway, just wanted to post and say hi again!
RCG (still rawcanadagirl in my head)
