In the January 21, 2008 issue of People magazine there is a great article that discusses her battle and win against Hodgkin's disease. This really puts this lifestyle into perspective. It's so healing and wonderful.

That's so cool, though if she stays on the diet she won't find herself staying a plus sized model for too long.
ciarac... What a funny thing to say. I bet you're right. That'll be the next round of info in People about her! ;)

I wonder if supermodel Carol Alt helped her with this?

Seriously though, just to get purely superficial here; why aren't ALL models on the raw food diet? You can eat good, feel good AND stay thin.
Yet i'm sure they all (or any of them who aren't naturally thin) probably pay money on expensive treatments or just plain starve themselves. The raw food diet is so much easier than that.

Is she raw?
And ciarac--I saw her photos...she looks real good and is obviously no longer the same sized Emme (though she is still plus sized).

Is she raw?
That would depend on one's definition. She definitely espouses eating raw food ~ including animal products.

Gotcha--she's on Celebrity Apprentice--and while she looks great...she has the "puff" that Marilu Henner talks about---Marilu is vegan, but I don't think raw (or at least I think she is vegan)--she has spoken in the past about Dairy effects on the body...and if Carol does the raw dairy--that would explain the "puff" in her face.

Well I think Carol Alt is beautiful & glowing. If she is only 80 or 90% Raw then so be it. She is happy with how she does it...and that is what matters!!

Ah, that's interesting...I have seen her on Celebrity Apprentice, too, and have been puzzling about the "puffiness"...it's very evident. Truthfully, she has beautiful features, but I have seen a much more striking "glow" on many other vegan raw foodist faces...

I like Carol Alt - but the meat eating thing - NASTY!! C'mon...Tapeworms, anyone?
I too haven't given up popcorn - but I make it at home, with olive oil and sea salt, and only occasionally....it's a mother-daughter bonding thing.
But I can't get the meat/dairy thing.
ICK....

Been ages since I had her book--I know she advocates no dairy though...or at least used to. That I remember without a shadow of a doubt. She was preaching that most everyone is allergic to it and it can make your face puffy. When "Later Today" was going on the air--she issued a 3 week challenge to one of the anchors to give up all dairy...she did...and within 3 weeks there was modest change. She suggested pineapple to help cleanse any remaining dairy out of the system. (or something to that affect....it has been years!)

It's almost 7:30 am.....her interview will be on the early show in a couple of minutes!
ok.it's 8:10...she's in the next segment~
I watched most of the segment with Emme.I had to go out of the room for several minutes but I didn't hear any mention of raw food in what I watched...all I did hear her say was watch what you eat.hmmnnnnn.....maybe will have to find the mag. She did go conventional chemo.

She mentioned juicing in a quick passing of discussing her healthy lifestyle...and that was it.
